Our Story
Lynn grew up in the an idyllic village nestled along the Susquehanna River in upstate New York. It's the kind of place that defines real small-town America — a close-knit community where diners are part of daily life, mornings start with coffee and conversation, and evenings often end with live music drifting out of the local bar. It’s a town where everyone knows where to get the best breakfast, who pours the strongest coffee, and which booth feels like home.
After moving to California, Lynn met her husband Tommy, before returning to New York to raise a family. Through every chapter of her life, diners were a constant — places of comfort, connection, and honest food done properly. Lynn didn’t learn about American diners from a theme or a trend; she lived them. She understands the rhythm, the warmth, the service, and the food that makes a diner feel genuine.
Lynn’s American Diner in Tavistock is her way of sharing that experience. Everything is rooted in what a real American diner should be: friendly, unpretentious service, classic dishes made well, and an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. This isn’t an imitation — it’s the real thing, brought straight from small-town America to Devon, with heart, authenticity, and a genuine love for food.
